One family, one estate.
We think together, work together, and dream together of the future. For us, family is the steady foundation that holds us—while we continue building what we began thirty years ago.
We work with love, move forward with precision, and face every challenge as a team—turning it into success.

Philosophy
As a family winery in Villány, we see wine as a shared work of nature and people. Our sole focus is to craft pure, varietal wines that faithfully reflect the character of each vintage. We believe a wine should give a sense of confidence—the feeling that you can always trust what’s in the bottle. That’s why everything we do is built on purity, precision, balance, and a consistent style.
Caring hands

Hand Harvest
Our commitment begins with the careful selection of every bunch. Hand harvesting is essential to quality, ensuring that only the healthiest grapes make it into the cellar.
Gentle Destemming
After hand harvesting, the bunches are carefully removed from the stems using a gentle destemmer, taking care to keep the berries intact. This helps the grapes remain whole—an important foundation for precise berry sorting.
Grape Selection
The grapes are placed on a vibrating sorting table, where two members of our team hand-select them during harvest. Any unwanted elements—damaged berries, leaves, stem fragments, or insects—are removed, so only perfect grapes reach the tank for fermentation.

1990 – The Beginning
This is when we founded our winery with just half a hectare of vines and a capacity of 1,500 bottles. In those first vintages, enthusiasm and hard work made up for what technology couldn’t yet provide—this is where the Günzer story began.

1995 – A New Winery
We built our first 400 m² winery, opening the door to a more deliberate, more controlled approach to winemaking. It was a true milestone: alongside hard work in the vineyard and cellar, technological progress arrived—taking the estate to a new level.

2004 – The Ördögárok Vineyard
Through an immense effort—moving more than one million cubic metres of earth—the Ördögárok vineyard was created. Today, it remains one of the estate’s most iconic sites. Its unique location and character have shaped the style of our wines ever since.

2006 – The Bocor Vineyard
Above Kisharsány—one of the region’s defining villages—we planted the Bocor vineyard. With 8 hectares, it became the estate’s largest contiguous site, home to our Kékfrankos and Portugieser vines.

2012 – A New Level of Selection
We introduced a new, gentle grape-sorting system that completely transformed our processing workflow. This technology allowed our already pure wines to become even more precise, more varietal in character, and more refined.

2015 – The Jammertal Vineyard
By expanding our existing parcels in Villány’s oldest vineyard and replanting key sections, we created an impressive, continuous estate site. Jammertal remains one of the region’s most noble vineyards, and it is the home of our premium wines.

2020 – A New Winery
As the largest investment in our company’s history, we built our new 1,200 m² winery. With a modern processing unit, contemporary tanks, and spacious facilities, it allows us to work in calm, precise conditions.
From Hand to Hand
For us, sustainability isn’t a goal—it’s a natural part of how we live and work.
A family that stays together, and work shaped for the future: this is our strength and our legacy.
Using Solar Energy
Above our winery, we installed a solar power system that covers our year-round energy needs. This means we don’t rely on fossil fuels, and we significantly reduce our carbon footprint. By generating clean, renewable, and cost-effective electricity, our solar panels play a key role in making our operations more sustainable.
Energy from Our Own Forest
We heat our facilities entirely with wood from our own forest, which we continuously replant. This way, we not only keep our cellar—and our guests—warm, but also maintain the forest’s ecological balance. We process the timber with our own team, supporting meaningful, sustainable work during the winter months.
Rainwater for Vineyard Protection
We collect rainwater from the entire roof of our winery and channel it into an underground storage tank built specifically for this purpose. The stored volume covers our full annual needs—so during vineyard spraying, we don’t use mains water at all.
Packaging
For our packaging, we use mostly recycled materials to help protect the environment. Our wine bottles and cartons are made from recycled glass and paper, and they are fully suitable for further recycling. Our bottles are also lightweight, reducing the extra emissions associated with transport.
