Villány PDO is a protected designation of origin and most important quality guarantee of the wine region.
As a closed system, it ensures that wines released under the Villány name truly reflect the character and traditions of the wine region.

Villány is one of the flagships of Hungarian origin protection: a protected designation of origin (PDO) wine region with strict rules to authentically express the place of origin. In Hungary, the origin protection system is built on several levels, from wines without geographical indication to PDO wines. The narrower and more regulated the system, the more clearly the wine reflects the uniqueness of its place of origin.
