TWO DECADES
TWO LEGACIES

XO and T20

Brandy XO
Hors d'Age Superior

Heritage. Memory. A new beginning — captured in a bottle.

The story of this special brandy began in 2005, when a fire destroyed one of the buildings of our winery. The roof burned down completely. In the room, only one tank remained intact: it held Hárslevelű from the 2003 vintage. The desire to save something from the loss and rebuilding inspired the decision not to make wine from it, but to distil it.

It was placed into three oak barrels and rested quietly for 20 years. Over the decades, the barrels breathed, alcohol and water slowly evaporated — the angels took their share — and spirit became deeper, nobler and rounder with every month.

What is bottled today is more than a drink: it is a story that fire tried to stop, but time completed.

TASTING NOTE

Appearance: deep polished amber with golden flashes and slow, thick legs on the glass. Nose: orange peel, candied apricot and dried flowers, with a fine reference to Hárslevelű. In the background: vanilla, roasted almond, beeswax, cigar box, cedar and black tea. Palate: full, silky and long. Dried apricot, date and caramelized apple, with vanilla, cocoa bean and toasted hazelnut from the barrel. Finish: long, spicy and tea-like, with a subtle honeyed floral echo.

Pomace Pálinka T20 Ördögárok vineyard

The Ördögárok vineyard is one of the winery’s best sites — a turning point in our story. In 2005, after the first harvest, we set aside the pomace of the vineyard alongside the fresh red wines. We did not forget it: we distilled it andn placed it in oak barrels. This is how the journey of T20 began. The spirit rested quietly for 20 years. The barrels breathed, alcohol and water gently evaporated — the angels’ share became almost half — while the character concentrated, softened and became nobler. What is bottled today is the silky imprint of the birth of a vineyard.
